How does Jin Shin Jyutsu® work?

The therapist uses a system of 26 points, referred to as safety energy locks. These 26 points are located on the body along energy pathways also known as meridians. Holding these points in sequence helps the flow of energy through out the body. This can bring about relief from any type of stress. It can help with mental, emotional, physical and spiritual stress.

What can I expect from a session?

The receiver remains clothed and lies face up on a cushioned treatment table; there is no massaging or manipulation of muscles involved. The session usually lasts an hour and is shorter for a child. The work is very gentle with hands placed over the clients clothes.

What are the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu?

You will have an increased sense of wellbeing, deep relaxation and renewed energy, you may also receive relief from stress related disorders. Jin Shin Jyutsu is cumulative, so the more Jin Shin Jyutsu you receive, the more it will help you find balance.

Can I have a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment if I am on medication?

Yes, Jin Shin Jyutsu will not interfere with any medication that you are taking. Jin Shin Jyutsu can work alongside any medical treatment. It should not replace medical treatment unless advised by your doctor.

Is it safe to have a treatment if I am pregnant?

Yes, Jin Shin Jyutsu is very beneficial to any pregnancy. It can help relieve symptoms of nausea and can bring harmony and balance to the mother and the baby.

What should I wear to a session?

It is best to wear comfortable and loose clothing.

Should I eat before a session?

If you eat before a session it should be a light meal or snack. It is best to wait an hour or two after a large meal to have a session. It is also best to wait an hour after a session to eat. The body’s energy after a meal is directed at digesting the food and not at healing the body.

Will I feel better right away?

Every individual has their unique experience with the journey to harmony and balance. Regular self-help routines and consistency in receiving sessions will greatly increase the benefits.
